Benidorm is a very popular holiday destination for British people. It is located in southern Spain 25 miles from Alicante on the Costa Brava. It offers sun, sea and plenty of nightlife. Many airlines fly here direct from the UK throughout the year. There are many hotels and apartments available at prices to suit all budgets. Benidorm is known for its skyline of high rise apartments and hotels which were built so that everyone would get a view of the sea. Nowadays, there are restrictions on the height of new buildings. Although many tourists come for the weather and entertainment, Benidorm has a lot to offer culturally too.
Shopping and Culture
As the destination grew in popularity, so too did the shopping options. There are plenty of shops selling, clothes, shoes, leather goods and jewellery. LA Marina shopping Mall is popular. In the old town, there are many popular shops along Avenida Martinez Alejos. Benidorm also has markets where it’s possible to pick up a bargain. For those who wish to indulge in some culture, there are many options. One highlight is the 18th Century Church of ‘Saint James’ set at the very top of the old town on a hill. Worth a visit if you are there for a day or two.
Benidorm Temperatures
The climate is mild if you compare it to the UK. Even in January, the average temperature is 12 degrees. The hottest months are July and August when the temperature averages at 25 degrees.
